Mass Flow Leak Test of Large Volume Parts

InterTech's mass flow methods use single step direct measurements of heat transfer of a flowing gas from leakage flow directed across a heated element. Temperature sensitive resistors measure the temperature of the incoming and outgoing flow, and the transducer creates a output voltage proportional to the mass flow creating the leakage rate measurement.

In this application crank cases are mass flow leak tested at a rate of 81 pph.

Features

An InterTech M-1075 Mass Flow Leak Detector controls the test cycle.

Three part configurations are sequentially tested:

1) to a 15 sccm limit at 15 psig (body); and

2) to a 15 sccm limit at 75 psig (oil passage).
